2014 U11 FiA South East Regional SportsHall Final
With hope and expectation both running high the U11 county teams travelled to Burgess Hill. The teams were selected following performances by young athletes in both the Berkshire County League and Berkshire County Championships held through the autumn.
Both the boys and the girls team performed fantastically well. Throughout the afternoon they were incredibly well supported by parents, siblings and other supporters as Berkshire supporters once again proved themselves the loudest and most supportive in the region.
After a satisfactory start to the afternoon athletes competed in a range of field and track events with the momentum building throughout the afternoon as we began to realise the fantastic results on the track were being matched by many of the field performances.
Amongst the girls, Hope Dandjinou (Holy Family Catholics School) was placed second in both the chest push (6.00m) and the standing long jump (2.05m); Chloe Eames (RAC) was 1st= in the balance test achieving a maximum 60 second score; Emilie Richardson-Tuitt (SJAC) won the standing long jump (2.12m) and Millie Quaintance (Team Kennet) won the javelin (16.0m).
In the boys Jamie Bonella-Duke (RAC) was 3rd in the chest push (5.50m) on count back just behind Connor Rapecki (SJAC) also 5.50m.
On the track Olivia Phelps (MAC) and Sophie Hutchings won the 1+1 lap race; Olivia then paired up with Hope Dandjinou for a convincing win in the Paarlauf and the 4×1 relay team (Emilie Richardson-Tuitt; Sophie Hutchings; Madeline Barnes; Olivia Phelps) were very good with the hand-offs to take 1st place by a convincing margin.
The boys had notable success on the track completing the 1+1 lap double (Elijah Oladunjoye SJAC and Noah Walcott RAC); in the 2+2 laps (Max McGarvie SJAC and Cameron Langley Team Kennet) were second as indeed Cameron was again second when he partnered with Leon Bradshaw (RAC) in the Paarlauf. To cap a great afternoon the boys showed that they too could make some wonderful baton hand offs as they powered to victory in the 4×1 lap relay (James West; Noah Walcott; Connor Rapecki; Elijah Oladunjoye) – noticed by a number of other team managers who made the point of complimenting the boys on their baton changes and the overall performance.
At the end of the afternoon the boys were placed 2nd overall, behind Kent and ahead of Surrey whilst the girls were 3rd behind Kent and Bucks.
A special mention must be made of the parents and other supporters at Burgess Hill and also to Olivia and Francesca (SJAC), who officiated through the afternoon. They were all equally brilliant in the support they gave in making it a memorable afternoon for everyone.

2014 County Cross Country Championships
The weather was poor, cold with heavy rain showers most of the day. The course was flooded in places, including the final finish but the track held up well.
Many thanks to all those, especially Bracknell AC, who were involved in the organisation, preparation and running the event on the day.

2013 County Sportshall Championships
The U13 / U15 county championships, held in December, were again well attended. We were privileged to see a fantastic level of competition between the clubs for the team honours with the lead changing throughout the afternoon cross each of the age / gender group competitions. It was as exciting to watch as the individual athletes competed to win their respective all-rounder competitions with the lead changing almost event by event and the final result only determined by the outcome of the last events of the afternoon.
Winners were:
U13 Girls Team : RAC All rounder : Rebecca Richardson (RAC) U13 Boys Team : SJAC All rounder : Lee Kadiri (SJAC) U15 Girls Team : RAC All rounder : Millie Williams (RAC) U15 Boys Team : SJAC All rounder : Elliott Thorne (SJAC) The U11 county championship competition was also held in December and we again saw how popular Sportshall is with ever growing participation and extraordinary levels of enthusiasm matched only by performances on the track and in the field and by the noise levels as mums, dads and siblings as well as grandparents cheered and supported throughout the afternoon.
In the Girls competition the team from SJAC appeared determined to make amend for defeat in the league and secured a hard fought victory with a very competitive team that performed well across all events. RAC (2nd) and the girls from Team Kennet (3rd) were separated by only 2 points at the end of the afternoon following some great relay performances from Team Kennet particularly in the Grand Prix.
In the Boys competition again Slough Junior AC were dominant and competed as strongly as they had in the league to win by an impressive margin. The boys from RAC did well to hold off a strong team from Team Kennet to secure second place.
Winners were:
U11 Girls Team : SJAC U11 Boys Team : SJAC -
2013 County Sportshall League
The 2013 County Sportshall League was extended to 3 closely contested matches during October and November at TVAC. Each match was attended by over 200 young athletes, a testament to the continued growing popularity of Sportshall across the county.
Strong competition across each of the matches meant that no team had any real clear advantage going into the final match so there was everything to run, jump and throw for.
The final league top 3 positions were as follows:
