I would like to thank all the athletes that represented the Berkshire A.A. teams in the UK Inter Counties Championships held at Cofton Park, Birmingham. The highest placed female athlete was Hope Goddard who finished 5th in the under 13 Girls race, Mitch White earned the best finish by a male athlete when he came 8th in the under 17 Men's race. It was very pleasing to see Charlotte Firth and Alex Tovey produce fine results of 55th and 45th in the senior age groups. Very well done to the under 13 Girls team, they recorded the highest team placing for many years coming 5th out of 40 teams. Seven of our eight teams finished in top twenty positions a very creditable result from a County the size of Berkshire. We could not field a team in the under 20 Women's race due to a lack of cross country athletes in this age group, the only disappointment of the day was not being able to produce a full senior Men's team, we only require six Men to close a team so my main aim will be to correct this next year. Finally can I thank all the coaches that gave their time to help out with the teams on the day.
