UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championship 2008 - Nottingham

The Berkshire teams were well represented by the female athletes in particular.

A team was recorded in all five races and 37 of a maximum 41 athletes ran.

The highest placed Berkshire athlete was Becky Turton from Bracknell A.C. who finished 29^th in the under 13 Girls race, the team came 19^th out of 40.

The highest placed team was the under 20 Women’s, they finished 14^th.

The male representation was not so good with only 21 finishers out of a possible 41. The best placed male athlete was Alex Tovey from WSEH who came 41^st in the under 20 Men’s race. The best placed male team was the Senior Men’s who came 27^th.  It was disappointing not to record a team in both the under 17 & under 20 Men’s races. With the event coming a week after the English Schools Championship, it could be said it was not good planning by UK Athletics.

However it was very pleasing to see both Jane Mackey from Newbury A.C and Alex Mouradian from Bracknell A.C. move up from the under 20 age group and score in the Senior teams.
