Entering Berkshire Championship Road Races:

Berkshire County Championship races are incorporated into scheduled road races staged in or as near as practicable to the county. It is the responsibility of runners to ensure that for each race, they are properly entered into both the hosting race AND the Berkshire Championships prior to the scheduled race date.

10k/10M: To enter the Berkshire County Championship tick the relevant entry box on the organiser's entry form, or add a note to the organiser if entering online via Runners World. The organisers will be dealing with all Championship entries and results. Medals are normally awarded & presented on race day. Please however confirm that you have entered the championships by email.

1. Eligibility:
As per UKA rule 9 - in summary:
a) Any individual born in Berkshire OR with 9 months' continuous bona fide residence in Berkshire prior to the date of the race (includes HM Forces stationed in Berkshire) AND
b) who has not competed for any other county, or in any other county championships during the competition year.

2. Championship Fees:
Published race entry fees apply, there is no extra fee required to enter the Berkshire championship.

3. Championship Prizes:
Berkshire County AA medals are awarded to the first 3 Championship finishers in each age category: male - under 40, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ and female - under 35, 35-44, 45-54, 55+.

NOTE: These age groups apply to the Berkshire Championships for all races, irrespective of those used by the race organisers for overall race categorisation.

4. Series Trophies:
The top 10 runners in each category of each championship race score ten through to one point respectively towards the series trophy. At the end of the season, the highest scoring runner in category will receive a trophy. In the event of a draw, head-to-head results will be taken into account.

5. Championship Entry:
Entry methods / medal presentations vary to accommodate organisers preferences.
See the fixtures page for dates and 'Entering Berkshire Championship Road Races' for information on registering entries.

6. Use of Details:
Race number, name, age on race day and eligibility will be used to determine medal winners. Club details will be displayed in the results section, and where medals are sent out after race day, may be sent to club chairmen/secretaries for onward presentation where several medal winners are from the same club. Your e-mail address will be used as a means to contact you after race day if we need to send you your medal. Your data will not be sold to other parties or used for any form of marketing. The only other likely use of your information would be to e-mail you in the event that we were made aware by race organisers that a specific race had been cancelled for any reason.

7. Helping at a Championship Event:
All events typically welcome assistance with marshalling. Contact the race organisers via their race website (links ill appear on the fixtures page).

8. Category changes:
For trophy points accumulation purposes only, all athletes will retain the age category as at the date of the first race entered within the series, for the duration of the series.
